> "HUMMING PARADISE"

PHISHING May 2009 Centrespace Gallery, Bristol

A large scale tree scape infested with human messages in the form of braille was encouraged to break down in a natural process of corruption by being sold off in 160 small sections during the show and removed immediately upon purchase.

The proceeds were given to the charity Sightsavers International, whose work includes the elimination of avoidable blindness in developing countries.

Each unique section cost £10, was individually numbered and signed in pencil on the rear by the artist. People chose the section they wanted according to personal preferences.

This time-lapse film of the image’s decomposition during the show was shot over a period of 13 days, and apart from being speeded up, remains unedited.

A big thank you to all those who took part.
